An Ode to Usage Surface - An Imprint of Value
HANDPRINTED TEXTILES 2012
Silk scarfs printed by using everyday surfaces such as metal, wood, stone and other textiles.
Giving value to every day surfaces by using them to decorate expensive silk scarfs with it. This work is presented in different ways using the value system of different frameworks: As fashion item, as scarf on a hanger, and as an artwork in front of a white wall. The project questions the relationship between the price and the way people perceive the work. This work deals with the matter of conceptualisation of value on two levels: In the concept of the print and in the way it is presented.
