In the work 'Migrations,' various aspects of the history of the textile printing industry in Basel, Switzerland, Weil am Rhein, southern Germany, and Mulhouse, Alsace, have been thoroughly explored. The research into the textile history of the border triangle has led to the creation of artistic pieces that delve into ecological, social, and economic entanglements extending far beyond the region. Central to this examination are questions pertaining to cultural identity, appropriation, imitation, originality, power dynamics, and exploitation. The study delves into the value of intellectual property transcending national boundaries and patent rights, ultimately destabilizing the clear distinctions between one's own, foreign, and traditional. The work 'Migrations' was featured in the exhibition 'Soft Violence in Mimicry – Textile Histories of the Past and the Future,' which was curated and presented by Heidi Brunschweiler of Galerie für Gegenwartskunst, Freiburg (GE). This project was a collaborative effort with Nika Timashkova.
